The traditional Dahi Gujiya is an addictive and favorite delicacy mostly from northern India and is popularly eaten during the festive season of Holi. The difference being this dish is the savory version of the traditional sweet gujiya. There’s a crisp outer covering of the gujiya prepared from deep-fried lentil batter usually made of soaked urad dal.Once fried the gujiyas are submerged in water to make them soft and afterwards laid in cold whipped and creamy dahi. This strained yogurt is still made delicously with typical spices including cumin powder, red chili powder and chaat masala. There is also a sweet and sour, spicy tamarind chutney and some crispy noodles of chickpea flour sprinkled over toppers to add more colors.Drumsticks stuffed with gujiya, dahi and some sweet and sour and spicy chutneys make an air tempting appetiser.
